Summit Music Parents’ Association – Celebrating over 40 years of supporting our Music Programs!!

Established in 1981 to support music education programs in the Summit public school,  SMPA works to fill the gap in budget funding for Summit’s award-winning music departments.   SMPA provides much-needed financial assistance for workshops, master classes and concerts, and funds the essential purchase of musical instruments and equipment.
We also provide scholarships to enable all students to participate in music department programming.   SMPA supports move up day in Lawton C. Johnson Middle School, provides buses for the high school students to showcase their talents and discuss options for music performance and education at the high school.   We also coordinate the distribution of the Lenox Underground scholarship for music lessons and award college scholarships to our talented graduation seniors continuing their music education.
